The role of the Disability Partnership Board
The aim of the Disability Partnership Board is to ensure that disabled people within Trafford receive equality of access to services, employment and opportunities, in line with the social model of disability. The Board members will work closely with Trafford Local Strategic Partnership & Trafford Council to ensure that this commitment to the inclusion of disabled people applies throughout the borough.
How the Disability Partnetship Board conducts business
The Board will operate as a coordinating body, and will also advise, brief and engage within the Local Strategic Partnership on disability and allied issues:
- Identify key priorities around disability
- Link to Local Strategic Partnership to follow through action plans to meet these priorities
- Evaluate progress and report on these to the Local Strategic Partnership and specific partners as required
- To build links between Trafford Council and organisations and employers in Trafford to facilitate support for disability issues, and to gather best practice issues
- To scrutinise the progress of all partner Disability Equality Schemes
